Where there’s a Will…
The National Will Aid Campaign has this year raised over £1million and local lawyer Lauren Smith has been a part of that success. She was able to raise a sum in the region of £6,000 for charities such as Help the Aged, NSPCC, and Save the Children UK.
The solicitor, who specialises in wills, trusts and conveyancing works at Paradise Square-based Watson Esam. She has been delighted to be a part of the scheme in which she prepared 90 wills with donations from each going to one or more of the charities supported by Will Aid.
Clients wishing to make a will can go to legal offices participating in the scheme and donate the fee they would have paid to the solicitor to Will Aid. The next scheme will run in November 2010 and campaigners hope that this will be as much of a success.
