Investing in Recruitment
Securing finance is of course a pre-requisite for any start up or developing business, but what about securing staff?: surely it’s second only to financial safety, after all people are generally a business’ most valuable asset.
A business depends on its reputation: its reputation depends on its products or services: the quality of those depend on its staff! But how many companies put as much effort into recruitment as they do into securing their loan, equity finance, or even business angel for example?
Of course recruitment is a big investment in itself, so getting it right is vital, and the investment can be made more secure by taking professional advice and using a top class recruitment agency, which can relieve a business of specialist and expensive tasks, such as considering employment options; producing and placing adverts; candidate filtering; personal checks and testing; respondents replies and initial interviews and feedback.
CRA Consulting is a legal and financial recruitment consultancy in Sheffield, and its staff are specialists in their field. They don’t provide a ‘one size fits all’ service, but create bespoke packages for their clients, acting as a professional advocate for the business to attract top-class staff. Robert Addy, partner and specialist in legal recruitment has placed high quality candidates in many legal practices in the region, and has recently worked closely with Chris Fry, a well- known solicitor in Sheffield who has recently set up Unity Law, a firm which is focused on helping people whose health has suffered due to their working environment or who have been discriminated against because of a disability. Chris says “Robert is plugged into the legal profession in the city in a way which means that he understands the needs of the various firms here. He makes it his business to know what’s going on whilst remaining discrete about it. I was able to talk to Rob about what I was looking for and he put me in touch with the right people. He is essentially a dealmaker rather than just a recruiter. I imagine we were unusual clients for CRA, as we hosted most of our interviews at their offices with a baby in tow, and they worked flexibly with us. The entire team was friendly and understood our brief and our ethic from day one.”
