New guidance on Agency Workers Regulations
The government issued long awaited guidance on the Agency Workers Regulations last week. The regulations which come into force on 1 October 2011 have not been entirely clear and have caused some concern amongst businesses.
Agency workers employed by a company for more than 12 weeks will be entitled to receive “no less favourable” pay and working conditions than those of a permanent employee, and it is these payments and benefits which have been the main cause of concern.
The new guidance clarifies some of the confusion and can be seen by clicking on this link.
