South Yorkshire's Youth Unemployment
Ed Miliband has voiced his concern over youth employment which is still high despite the end of a recession. In an exclusive interview with the star Ed Milliband raised concern that “2,995 South Yorkshire youngsters ages 16-24 have been out of work for over a year” and youth unemployment is still a major issue.
A priority if the Labour Government was elected would be to put the younger generation back into work. Recent statistics show that 24 people are chasing every vacancy in parts of Sheffield which shows the realism of the job market. Mr Milliband went on to suggest that the Governments focus on reducing Government spending has stalled the UK’s economic growth and the creation of work.
