Hill Dickinson acquires DLA Piper's Sheffield & Manchester practice
North West law Firm Hill Dickinson has picked up the majority of DLA Piper’s defendant insurance practice in Sheffield and Manchester. The deal will involve Hill Dickinson picking up 30 new staff including 3 new members at the end of February 2013. The DLA Piper practice has a turnover of approximately £2million and specialise in disease cases. Its client base, subject to agreement will transfer their defendant matters to Hill Dickinson.
Hill Dickinson Head of insurance, Ruth Lawrence, said: "Our new team members will bring with them a wealth of expertise and many combined years of experience that will enable us to build our presence in the marketplace, both from an industry and regional point of view.” DLA Piper also plans to offload its Birmingham defendant insurance practice, although a deal is yet to be revealed.
