CRA Legal are recruiting on behalf of a reputable, regional law firm with a an excellent reputation and are recognised amongst the Legal 500. The successful candidate will be joining a well-networked, highly-regarded and expert team of Litigation Lawyers with experienced partners who drive a great work culture. 

If successful, you will perform the following role as a Civil / Commercial Litigator:

  • Client Representation: Serve as a trusted advisor, representing clients in civil and commercial litigation cases, and ensuring their interests are diligently advocated throughout the legal process.

  • Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload encompassing contract disputes, professional negligence claims, employment issues, intellectual property matters, and other civil/commercial litigation cases.

  • Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research to develop a comprehensive understanding of applicable legal principles and precedents, facilitating the creation of robust legal strategies.

  • Case Preparation: Thoroughly investigate case facts, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with colleagues to construct compelling arguments and formulate winning case strategies.

  • Drafting and Documentation: Prepare accurate and persuasive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, settlement agreements, and other relevant materials required for litigation proceedings.

  • Negotiation and Mediation: Explore alternative dispute resolution methods, such as negotiation and mediation, to achieve favorable settlements for clients when appropriate.

  • Courtroom Representation: Provide effective representation for clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals, through the delivery of compelling arguments and skillful cross-examination of witnesses.

  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case progress, advising on legal options, and offering practical guidance to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Legal Compliance: Stay abreast of developments in civil and commercial laws, regulations, and legal precedents, ensuring adherence and providing proactive advice to clients to mitigate legal risks.

  • You will either be a fee earning paralegal, trainee solicitor, trainee legal executive or a qualified legal professional
  • You will need previous experience handling a dispute resolution caseload with either property, commercial or civil focus
  • Advocacy experience beneficial
