My client is a reputable accountancy practice located in Sheffield, specializing in providing comprehensive financial services to small and medium-sized businesses. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team.
- You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Recording financial transactions in accounting software (e.g Sage QuickBooks, Xero) accurately and efficiently.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns .
- Assisting with weekly and monthly payroll processing on behalf of clients and ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Communicating effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide financial guidance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in an accountancy practice setting however this is not essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping are desirable but not essential.
- This role could be done part time 3 days a week
