Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:

  • Calculate payments on account of costs and collaborate with fee earners and the Head of Funding to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist fee earners in calculating fixed costs and support the recovery of fixed costs and disbursements from the paying party.
  • Oversee and manage payments to third parties, including medical experts, agencies, and barristers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supervise the closing of files and manage write-offs to maintain an organised and efficient system.
  • Handle insurance claims, including assisting with negotiations on disputed claims to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Collect and collate data related to claims made to insurers, ensuring accurate reporting and proper record-keeping.
  • Ensure smooth financial processes by handling the billing of costs upon receipt.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the costs administration processes within the Clinical Negligence department.
  • Perform any other duties as required to support the success of the department and the team.
