Key Responsibilities:

  • Succession Planning: Assisting farmers in developing and implementing succession plans, ensuring that farms are preserved for future generations.
  • Business Structures: Advising on the creation of companies, partnerships, and limited liability partnerships to support the needs of rural businesses.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Providing guidance on regulatory matters, ensuring farmers and landowners are fully compliant with ever-evolving legislation.
  • Landowner Rights & Environmental Law: Offering expertise in balancing environmental regulations with landowner rights, helping clients navigate complex legislative frameworks.
  • Land Transactions: Managing land sales, purchases, option agreements, and easements, ensuring transactions are smooth and legally sound.
  • Tenancy Agreements: Advising on Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies, offering tailored legal solutions to tenancy arrangements.
  • Common Land & Property Rights: Providing advice on common land rights and ensuring farms are protected from adverse possession or right of way claims.
  • Unregistered Land: Understanding unregistered land titles and assisting with the application for registration.
  • Client Relationships: Building and nurturing strong relationships with local farmers, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring the firm remains at the heart of the agricultural community.

General Duties:

  • Handling ad hoc matters relating to agricultural property law.
  • Drafting and reviewing necessary correspondence and legal documents.
  • Liaising with agents, solicitors, clients, and other parties to ensure transactions proceed smoothly and efficiently.
  • Conducting legal research to stay at the forefront of agricultural law.
  • Ensuring that all transactions are carried out with precision, speed, and the utmost professionalism.
