CRA Consulting is delighted to be exclusively supporting a leading manufacturing firm in South Yorkshire in their search for an experienced Legal Counsel. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and innovative organisation, providing strategic and operational legal support to the business.
The Role:
Based out of their Rotherham office, this role will see the successful candidate take a key position within the business. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will provide comprehensive legal advice across a wide range of matters, including:
- Commercial contracts
- Corporate governance
- Compliance and regulatory issues
- Dispute resolution
- Employment law matters
- Intellectual property protection
- Risk management and mitigation
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts with suppliers, customers, and other third parties
- Advising on corporate transactions and commercial agreements
- Managing any legal disputes, ensuring effective resolution and minimal business disruption
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including health and safety, environmental, and employment law
- Working closely with external counsel when necessary, ensuring high-quality advice and value for money
- Supporting the business in strategic decision-making with pragmatic legal guidance
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial law, ideally with experience in the manufacturing or In House legal sector. You will need to be confident in managing a varied caseload, able to work autonomously, and comfortable advising senior stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE (Post-Qualified Experience)
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Broad understanding of corporate, commercial, and employment law
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Previous in-house experience would be highly desirable
